Project #3: Dot Day

 Dot Day!

In class, we listened to the book called The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. The book was about a young girl, named Vashti, who looked down on herself and her drawing abilities. Her teacher encouraged her to began her drawing with a singular dot, which later than turned into bigger art pieces.

For the project, we had to create our own dot. We began with a coffee filter and created a design of our choice using markers, crayons, oil pastels, and sharpies. Once we used our dry mediums, we then took watercolor to make the colors bleed.

Extension Activity: to extend off of the activity above, I could have students take their individual dots and combine them into a larger art piece/mural on a bulletin board. We then could discuss the different styles between the dots and how the colors all look together.
